The authorities in our business will say unequivocally that Lorem Ipsum is a very big no-no to be given up forever. Not so fast, I would say, there are some redeeming factors in favour of the Greek text, as its use is merely a symptom of a worse problem to be considered.
You start with a text, you shape the information, you whittle away the non-essentials, you get to the point, you make things clear, you add value, you are a content person, you love words. Anyway, you still use Lorem Ipsum, and rightly so, because as events develop it will always have a place in the web worker’s toolbox.
You have made all the necessary mockups for the commissioned layout, obtained all approvals, created or had a tested codebase, decided on a content management system, licensed it or adapted open source software to your client’s needs. So the question arises: where is the content?
This is not so bad, there is a fake copy to the rescue. But even worse, what if the fish doesn't fit in the tin, the foot is too big for the boot? Or is it small? Short sentences, too many titles, images that are too big or too small for the proposed design, or they fit but look suspiciously like the people at the meeting for reasons they can't quite figure out at the moment, but are somehow unhappy.
